A Warm Wednesday....What's going on?

powerball

Last week we were slipping and sliding on the mountain bikes, this week we are breaking out the road bikes and shorts, even warmer weather on the near horizon. As our photo above shows we now have a new selection of SBC wear in stock, a perfect fashion item this time of year, just don't get in a hockey fight, you would get lost if it gets pulled over your head.

Yesterday was another planning meeting for National Bike Month, which is May. Part of the events that for the Bike Month is National Bike to Work Day, think about making a team for your work place. For more info on Bike to Work Day contact Anne Lorimer: hybridgoldfish@gmail.com.

This Saturday is the second edition of Hillandale Trail Work Day, meet at the Rocktown Trail Head at 9am, a couple hours of work by a handful of folks go a long way. For now the trails are closed because it is SOOO MUDDDYYY there, our roaming scout, Chase Lame, confirmed the conditions today at lunch. Should be rolling good in a few warm days!

Friday....Stretching for Sunday

mega millions

Yesterday the pre-ride Super Bowl scouting crew (Thomas, Kurt and Matt) made it to the mountain to experience the "variable conditions". This is our way of saying there will be mud, long stretches of ice, and dry flowing single track. The crew made it to Flagpole then opted for Red Diamond due to the Sun saying "Goodnight". Red Diamond is tight but flowing better then ever. Eye-wear is highly suggested! Meadow Knob has yet to be reported on but we presume similar conditions exist on the next ridge over.

Details and Directions to the ride on the SVBC website.

You will be hungry from Sunday's ride so join SVBC for the annual pot luck dinner this Monday February 7th at 6:30pm in the basement of Clementine Cafe. Bring a dish to share and celebrate the upcoming two-rwheel year with other community members. The new SVBC board will be introduced, you opportunity to help direct the new board for the future of the Coalition.
