Rolling south west on the Tuesday Ride you could see the upper elevations still showing white, yes that is left over snow from Sunday. The mountains are suppose to get another fresh layer tonight, keeping trail riding to the lower slopes.  Ryan and Bishop both were rolling their fat tires on the mountain bikes tonight, always at the front, proving they both have great form rolling into the spring races. Bishop if off to Columbia this weekend for the Pan America Games, locally the race is closer to home with the Dragons Tale 50K.

See you soon...SBC Crew

Spring Sprung..now it is retreating!

The weather man is saying is snow, we will see what the evening brings tonight but we imagine that the VORS (Virginia Off Road Series) "Ride the Ridge" will not be happening tomorrow. This weekend is Marcia's annual birthday celebration at Douthat State Park, the big questions is who brought their skis? The shop has been feeling more like April or May with the doors having a consistant flow of new and old bike riders, hope to see you down at SBC/PULP soon.

Bikes can be more then recreation...

california lottery

March 23rd...Not bad for a rain forecast! Sun and warmth..

Here is the Burley Travoy in use by our local bike commuter and advocate, Anne Lorimer. This trailer is super cool because it unhitches in seconds and can be used as a cart, great for shopping, no matter how much you need to pick up.  Anne is also the main coordinator behind "Bike to Work Day" in Harrisonburg this May, think about participating or better yet get a team going for your work place. It is fun to bike to work with other folks, nothing more beautiful then a full bike rack(s) at a work place....

Weekly rides have started with the time, making for a great time to ride your bike. Last night the Tuesday Fast road ride kicked off with four folks in the drizzle, perfect for some Roubaix riding.  The first SVBC Wednesday ride of the season kicks off at 5:15, it's 19th year of this weekly ride, it must be good. Sunday the Charlottesville O-Hill Meltdown Mountain Bike Race, a great early season race, fun for anyone!

A beautiful weekend after a rainy week. You know Mother Earth was thirsty because 48 hours after all that rain the trails were starting to dry up fast.  Thanks to everyone who came out to the DEMO, the SBC crew had a blast!

High Five to Jeremiah who won not just the cross country race but also the short track at the first US Pro Mountain Bike race this weekend in California, probably one of his biggest weekends of the  year.

Tomorrow evening is the March edition of the Shenandoah Valley Bicycle Coalition Social, come to Clementine Cafe at 7:30....Weekly rides and trail work start back up with the time change!
