This past weekend was the IMBA Regional Summit right here in Harrisonburg. It was great to help host so many hard working volunteers and have the opportunity to show them some of the great local trail work like: Hillandale, Massanutten and Narrow Back. If you are not a member of IMBA think about supporting their efforts for mountain bike by joining IMBA now.

Sunday Evening July 10th.
It was an exciting Saturday downtown this weekend as the Friendly City Food Coop made it official with their grand opening. Tim, Whitney and Rocky were busy participating at the event with free PULP samples, the line was long as folks enjoy some cold refreshment on sunny day.
Monday is the monthly Shenandoah Valley Bicycle Coalition Socail/Meeting which will be at the Blue Nile Restaurant on North Main Street (Corner of Main and Wolfe Street).

July is typically a slow month for local Harrisonburg cycling but not the case this year with Wolfe Ridge Trail Work this Sunday, followed by the IMBA Regional Summit July 22-24th and the Shenandoah Valley Bicycle Festival at OCP on July 30th..

July 4th, 2011...Happy Birthday America!
SBC WILL BE CLOSED MONDAY JULY 4TH.
Typical July 4th weather on tap...some heat and humidity with showers to mix in later in the day. The Tour de Burg is entering day four with Stage 3 happening this morning..the Little Bald/Narrow Back Stage. After a casual ride to Camp Todd the Tour will head straight up Little Bald Knob only to immediately decend back to the Wild Oak Parking lot, this will probably be one of the longest times sections in Tour History. Even though close to home the Tour Riders will then have to battle Narrow Back and the Secret South, this sun baked section will deplete the riders of anything they have left!! We will give more updates later tonight!
