We're super excited to have built up Virginia's first Ibis Mojo 3.  We will have this bike in Medium and Large available for demo later this spring.  Details to follow on the demo bikes.

Connect our Schools..The final push at City Council.

This coming Tuesday, March 22nd the Harrisonburg City Council will hold a public comment period concerning $50 million of bonds which we hope includes $1.5 for the Connect our Schools Campaign. The community has done a great job of supporting this campaign and now we need folks to come and support the final push. You don't have to say anything but your presence at the City Council meeting is key to showing Council that we support them funding these trails through the next City Bond. Please be there and share this event with others so we can pack the house!

Stokesville 60/40...a great start to the season!

Sunday's weather was about perfect for the 6th day of March and Shenandoah Mountain Touring's Stokesville 60/40 race.   This is the second year Chris Scott and crew have put on this event which highlights almost all the trails Narrow Back Mountain, and for those doing the 60K the bonus of Lookout Mountain.  The  trail conditions were typical for March, soft with very little mud, providing for sticking traction in the single track but a little sponge sucking on the climbs. Riding the entire length of Narrowback Ridge, from South to North, is a great ride.  Its something that I don't do in it's entirety very often.  Riding with numerous out-of-towners on the ridge and hearing their praise of the great trails made me really proud of the the work the Shenandoah Valley Bicycle Coalition has done.

A great thing about Stokesville 60/40 is that start/finish is based out of the Stokesville Lodge, a great cozy feel for this smaller event (not so small this year with 165 riders).  There were numerous little folks breaking out there bikes to do laps in the driveway and venturing into the new SMT single track  trails that explores the campgrounds 130 acres.

My highlight was riding with Ashville's Trish Stevenson who is always is smile on the bike, and even a bigger smile with her two kids (Otto & Lucy).  After the race we did a little family ride Trish, Lucy & Otto, with her husband Sam Koeber (also a great humble rider).

Now I must start thinking about putting in a little longer rides if I am going to attempt to do anymore of SMT's great events in 2016!
