Service Customer Feedback

We love to fix bikes.  Have you had your bike worked on at SBC?  If so, THANK YOU!!!  We'd love to hear about your service experience.  Please take a few moments to complete the SBC Service Customer Feedback form to tell us what we do right and what we can improve upon.  This feeback form will live permanently at the bottom of our Service page.

Epic day off: Spruce Knob, WV.

On Monday, after a long day of work here at the shop, Paul and Scott set out to make the most of their Tuesday off.  They embarked on an adventure deep into high backcountry at the precipice of West Virginia.  After a curvy 2 hour mountain drive from town, they reached the exposed summit of Spruce Knob.  They encountered temperatures and wind gusts in the 40's.  With a swift retreat to more comfortable conditions at lower altitudes, they sought the perfect spot to setup their hammocks.  Surrounded by a grove of terrestrial lightning bugs, ferns and Red Spruce they slept near the Seneca Creek Trailhead.

After a basic dutch oven breakfast and some open fire espresso, the odd pair hopped on their mountain bicycles to explore the Epic Trails as designated by IMBA.  They returned to the precipice to ride through a magical alpine boreal forest, interspersed with rock fields and wildflower meadows as they descended the Spruce Mountain ridge.  Huckleberry, Lumberjack and High Meadow trails spit them out on Seneca Creek Trail at the bottom of the mountain.  The cooler temperatures did not afford them a swim at the base of Seneca Creek Falls, however it did provide Paul with a birthday plan.  After a leisurely 6 hours in the woods, pizza and beer would be the only way lure these two back into reality.

When is your next day off?  Let us help you make it Epic.  Come by SBC to get the best ride beta, map selection and bike gear around.  For more info on IMBA Epic Rides, click here.

Don't miss the Trek Demo Day at Massanutten!!!

The demo day will be held at Massanutten's Western Slope and will  feature mountain and road bikes. The Trek Demo Trailer will return to the fabled Shenandoah Valley Bicycle Coalition built and maintained trails at the Western Slope.

This will again provide riders with the opportunity to demo multiple bikes on the Shenandoah Valley Bicycle Coalition (SVBC) built trails as well as the stellar roads around Keezletown. Normally, you need a trail pass to ride at Massanutten (which can be obtained through the SVBC) but on June 28th you will be able to test ride Trek bikes and ride the trails courtesy of the Shenandoah Bicycle Company and Massanutten Resort. This event also has a FACEBOOK Page

This is the day to try your hand at the ever popular Western Slope Trails as we will have a course set up complete with arrows to make sure you don't get lost in the woods. In addition, we will shuttle riders to the top of the mountain and lead group rides for those who want a personal tour.

We will also have Trek road bikes for you to Demo! Again, we will hand out maps with directions and will place signs along the beautiful Keezletown Roads so that you can try some light and fast carbon road bikes.

We will be selling SVBC memberships and trail passes at the demo day so that you can come back to enjoy an amazing trail network built through volunteer labor. The Shenandoah Bicycle Company is heavily involved with the SVBC and hopes that you will think about showing your support for this great organization by becoming a member!

Tour De Fat Video Update

Check out a short video made by Scott Wootten from his trip to DC last weekend to volunteer at the Tour De Fat.  New Belgium Brewing company sends a caravan of beer carnies across the country to raise money for local cycling organizations by way of Music, Beer & Bikes.

This event benefited the Washington Area Bicycle Alliance and Mid Atlantic Off-Road Enthusiasts.   All of the event proceeds for went straight to the cycling community so they can continue building bike awareness and infrastructure in the DC area.  How awesome is that?

On Sunday, Wootten joined Trek-Race Pace Team Member & M.O.R.E. Board Member, Nate Shearer, on a mountain bike ride that was so gnar that it gave Nate a busted face.
