SBC goes to Madison Wisconsin (Waterloo too)

Thomas and Kyle spent three days last week up at the Trek dealer show in Madison Wisconsin. Besides looking at the entire 2013 Trek product line, they rode B-cycle bike share bikes to at Trek concept store in Madison, largely on green ways and bike paths. Tuesday consisted of a tour of Trek headquarters in Waterloo Wisconsin and test rides of the new 2013 bikes on Trek's own trails located 1/2 mile away from their headquarters. Check out a video of the "green" trail system at Trek. The trails have a whole bunch of alternative lines made up of wooden structures. Below is a photo gallery from the first day of Trek World. Great photos of the bicycle/pedestrian infrastructure around Madison as well as some of the new 2013 Trek products.

Some of the ones that we were most excited about:

The TREK Stache is an aluminum 29er hardtail with a 120 fork and a thru axle rear. After riding it the best way to describe it is the front end of a Rumblefish with a super stiff and responsive rear end. The bike felt playful and light in the front end, begging for "playful" riding. The Crossrip is Trek's new 700c fat tire bike with disc brakes. Also, get ready for Bontrager Tubeless tire systems coming soon, these full kits will set up certain wheels tubeless to avoid pinch flats and the ability to run lower pressure. SBC hopes to have some Bontrager Demo wheels for customers to try out the whole tubeless deal.
