Dawn Patrol.

Early morning is what fits my schedule and inner clock, it might go back to years of delivering papers when I was a kid.  I am always looking for riding pals who are down with starting early and being back before bruch time.  This week I was super excited to get two rides in with two different great folks!
Harlan looking back on the ridge..once again Massanutten proves rock-a-plenty

Friday morning Harlan Price motivated me to hit up the Nut while it was stiff frozen. The 2000 Hours Trail with snow and ice sure makes for some exciting conditions. This ride was also another chance to hit the ridge south, more exploration time for future trails! Harlan is a great (re) addition to the Harrisonburg cycling community.

The top of Lynn....a break of the slush!

Sunday morning Jake Brown was game for a early adventure west of town which was cut short a little by the hard morning rains but we were still able to get a fun Lynn/Wolfe loop in before 9:30am. The conditions were super soft with plenty of slushy snow and  ice lingering in the north facing slopes.  You know it is good when your best traction choice half way up the Lynn Trail is the wet rocks.
Jake Brown, always a great riding partner.
If you are ever getting an itch for a dawn patrol I am your partner! Just shout.
